Ren'py has some decent built in transitions, but what if they are not what you were looking for:

fade, dissolve, pixellate, move, moveinright, moveoutright, ease, zoomin, zoomout, zoominout, vpunch, hpunch, blinds, squares, wipeleft, slideleft, slideawayleft, pushright,  irisin

Using a gray scale image you can create your own transition, white will be the first area faded progressing to the darkest black or reverse it, it's up to you. I have included over 100 different, ways to transition images in Ren'py. The included script will show them all and the image used for the effect.

Enjoy and Stay Safe out there.

Hi ! I know that you posted this a long time ago but I have a bit of a situation here, I followed the instruction and copy past the script I wanted: the last one in_eye and out_eye but it isn't working, it says that: (see link pictures)

and here's my code:

I tried to just take the picture in your game files to try it out and also I took the define in_eye [...] from a reddit post you made on the subject on how to do a first person blink as if someone was waking up.

Thank you very much if you answer this, even if it doesn't work for me your work is amazing ;)

the error you are getting is because you don't have a character defined for bm

  •     show image1 with in_eye  <--- do you have an image1 somewhere?
  •     bm "eye.png  " <--- remove this / change it to a pause
  •     hide image1 with out_eye
  •     bm "eye.png  " <--- remove this

define in_eye = ImageDissolve("dissolvers/eye.png", 6.0) <--- you need the file eye.png it's in the dissolvers folder of what you downloaded

if you put it in another folder, be sure to update that in both defines

Since my files are included in this pack without my permission, please remove them from your pack, You can include a link to either the lemmasoft forum or my own itch.io pack instead, but not the actual files: https://kia.itch.io/image-dissolve-transitions

did you forget about your post here on the forum

Since I've provided them for free, reselling them by anyone else doesn't sit well with me. Even as PWYW model.
As the creator, I can change the license at any time, but usually people ask for these things first, and respect my request to not repackage my work to sell.

you can post new stuff with a new license but,

Did you obtain from me a copy of this creative common license you're talking about?

Since I've never included a license alongside my work, it's not under a creative common license. I own the copyright and I'm tired of you trying to weasel out of it. This isn't asking nicely anymore, consider this your final takedown notice, next one will come through the legal channels.

interesting

how honest are you going to be in the reporting of this?

The above is a link to the internet archive, showing that originally you stated that they were "cc free for all uses no credit required" here is the link from creative commons about changing a cc license: https://creativecommonsusa.org/index.php/ufaqs/am-i-allowed-to-take-down-my-work-and-remove-the-cc-license/ which I also provided to you a few days ago and your response was to edit the forum post to remove the cc free license in retaliation to my use of your works.  https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=37628#p407985

I am through dealing with you petulance behavior.
